German Chamomile is the common name for the medicinal variety of Chamomile. There is also Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile), which is used mainly for Essential Oil production)
Chamomile is very bitter and has a slight “mouldy” taste.
There are many folklore stories surrounding Chamomile, some of which go back to the most ancient times. Throughout history, it has been associated with sun Gods, magical powers, and luck bringers.
Chamomile plant uses are numerous, as this flower is often used in both culinary and non-culinary contexts.
