The Benefits of Fire Breathing and How to Practice
Karin shares with you her take on the Yoga practice of Fire Breathing
Often used in Yoga practices, breathing exercises are a quick and simple way to help enhance your sense of well-being and may be beneficial for both your physical and mental health. In this video, you will learn the breathing technique known as Fire Breathing also known as Breath of fire, “skull shining breath” or Kapalabhati. In Sanskrit, “kapal” means “skull” or “forehead” and “bhati” means “illuminating.”
As a form of breath control, this breathing technique is associated with stress relief. It may also improve respiratory health, concentration, and mindfulness. It’s also said to strengthen the abdominal muscles and improve digestion.
This breath is great for restoring that necessary balance.
The trick is to make it your daily routine by attaching the initiating trigger to something you already do, for example, right before you start your work day.
