Silverweed (Potentilla Anserina) is a perennial plant that originates in the temperate areas of the Northern Hemisphere. It is mostly found in habitats like grassland, meadows, riversides, and wastelands.
Its leaves are collected in the summer and then dried up for later use. It is used by many for its health benefits.
The name of this plant comes from the healing virtues that were attributed to it by ancient peoples. The word Pontentilla comes from the Latin word Potens (meaning powerful) and from the diminutive form illa (meaning small). We can therefore describe Silverweed as a "little flower with strong healing powers.”
