Trends in tea from the land of the rising sun - Part 2: Have a “tea” break, have a Kit Kat
In 1954, Nestle first introduced the slogan “Have a break…. Have a kit kat!” Since then it has been one of the chocolate bars of choice for people all over the world when taking a tea break. In Japan, its possible to have a tea break without the tea, by snacking on a tea flavoured kit kats.
An ever popular chocolate bar with young people in Japan, there have been over 200 flavours of Kit Kat released over the years. See some of the most popular tea flavours below:
Hojicha roasted green tea
Matcha flavoured
Jasmine tea
Cherry blossom matcha latte
Even Aero have released green tea flavoured bars of chocolate, though we’re not sure it is any substitute for the real thing.
We’d recommend sticking with a cup of Solaris Green Tea to get all the antioxidants and goodness of our first flush tea without the need to travel to Japan for your tea break.
