Happy Cónocht na Earraigh everyone!

This weekend was the Spring equinox, also called the vernal equinox. Falling this year on the 20th of March at 3.33pm.

It officially marks the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

By now you will be noticing that the fields are starting to bloom, carpets of daisies are sprouting casting a shimmering touch of magic, dandelions are bringing up their bright sunny crowns and clusters of daffodils are dancing in the longer days.

The sun is shining for more minutes each day and the cold days are slowly slipping away.

This time also celebrates ‘Ostara’ which  refers both to the festival that ushers in spring and to the Goddess who shares the same name. It’s celebrated by different cultures across the world as a symbol of rebirth, fertility and new beginnings.

Ostara marks the awakening of the plant cycle at the end of winter and the beginning of the season of light, birth, rebirth and resurgence when life breaks through after the cold winter.

The English word 'Easter' has its origin in the term Eostra, a holiday adapted later in Spring by the Christian tradition, falling this year on the 17th of April.

In ancient times, giving coloured eggs to family and friends was a way of sharing good wishes of abundance, prosperity and fertility.

The rabbit, because of its high reproductive capacity, was also a sacred symbol of fertility for this time of the year.

After a long winter and so much cold, it is time to welcome plants, new beginnings, flowers, new dreams, long days and a new drive to shine.

For me, this is the perfect time for finding balance in my life. Between work and play. Self care and care for others. Introversion and extroversion.

The perfect balance of light and dark, as nights and day are of equal length, it reminds us to honor both our shadows and our light.

By accepting both equally we can find balance within ourselves.

Nature reminds us of what to prioritize in our lives and to give precedence to what makes us truly happy.

It's time to feel alive and hopeful again!

Slowly stepping out of our winter cave, sniffing the fresh air and allowing the sun to warm our face and enliven our bodies.

Welcome in the warmth today and welcome in the possibility of new beginnings and sowing new seeds of love, light and abundance!

I am light

I am dark

I am warmth

I am abundance

I am joy

Happy Spring to you all 😊🙏💛✨✨✨
