Womb power for our femininity

Womb power for our femininity

The power of the womb has both been revered and feared for thousands of years now.

Within it lies the power of life and of death.

Here we have the capacity to harbour fertility that is beyond our capacity as women to give birth to a baby.

Here is the seat of our wisdom, creativity, power and sensuality.

Stories of potent and powerful Goddesses representing fertility, birth and creation, dot the landscape of our fertile matriarchal landscape of the past.

Yoni is the Sanskrit word for the female genitalia, the womb and vagina. It means ‘sacred place’.

So much more than symbols of sexuality and motherhood; our yoni and womb are the simmering, juicy slow cooker of our vitality, creativity and our inner ‘hot house’;  allowing our seeds and dreams to grow and flourish into reality.

The seat of our womb is also the seat of our Kundali Shakti ‘Serpent Power’ in Sanskrit- source of our kundalini energy. The rainbow snake of our chakras lies coiled at the base of our spine, ready to be activated and the energy channeled throughout all our energy bodies, wheels, chakras.

Our womb and yoni area are linked to our first and second chakra, the root chakra and the sacral chakra.

Our root chakra or  Mulladhara in Sanskrit. Mula meaning root and Adhara meaning foundation and stability.

The Root Chakra helps us to stay grounded and deeply connect with the earth.

This beautiful earthy ruby red coloured chakra sits at the base of our spine. It incorporates our tail bone, pelvis and pelvic floor, our lower digestive tract and colon, some of our reproductive organs and the bundle of nerves that innervate this whole region.

The root chakra provides a strong foundation of support and stability from which we can really connect to our physicality and vitality.

In essence, it provides a platform from which we can safely grow and expand our consciousness as we move through the higher chakras.

It relates to our instinctive desire for survival. The 4 instincts being Food/Nourishment, Reproduction/Sex, maintaining healthy sleep patterns and our unconscious strive towards Self-preservation.

It is deeply connected to our sense of smell and how we use our sensory and sensual perception of the world to connect to our physical vitality and from there to higher spiritual consciousness. Link to blog and or video

The 2nd chakra is situated 2 finger width above the root chakra. Just above the pubic bone and below the navel. A six-petaled chakra with a deep amber/ orange colour.

SWADHISTANA in Sanskrit Swa meaning ‘ME’ and dhistana ‘MY PLACE’.

Linked to the element water and to our feminine aspects as well as being aligned to the moon, planet Venus and shakti energy.

The :Swadhistana is regarded as one of the most powerful of the 12 chakras.

It is the seat of our SELF IDENTITY, OUR SELF ESTEEM, OUR INNER VALUE.

Our identity is the one thing that stays constant. We may alter our physical bodies, our emotional responses and our knowledge base.

However, who we truly are- our identity or essence, as such, remains unaltered in its pure state!

When balanced the Sacral chakra is the CENTER of our feelings, encouraging self-expression and our ability to connect to and understand ourselves and others.

From here we can express our deepest emotions, our creativity, intuition and sensuality.

Here we feel safe and secure. We are comfortable sitting with ourselves.

However these two foundational chakras link right up to our higher chakras- it's through potentiating them in our heart and throat that true magic happens and allows us to be seen and heard and also to live a life that reflects the best version of ourselves.

This is why when our jaws and throat chakra area is relaxed and nourished, our womb and yoni area is also balanced  and visa versa.

Nutritious food
Eating a healthy balanced diet that brings you joy, looks visually delicious and is packed full of flavor is a must when it comes to womb health.

Try to include a rainbow of fruit and veg every week. Focusing on Red, orange, green and blue. Try incorporating raw or lightly steamed veg as often as you can. Remember the importance of essential fatty acids and unadulterated fats such as extra virgin olive oil, flaxseed oil and small amounts of raw coconut oil. Use unprocessed wholegrains. Fresh herbs and spices to zest it all up.

Bring presence to your food. Eat slowly, savor with all your senses.
