The Third Eye Chakra or frontal chakra is directly connected with our intuition. Among all the chakras in the body, it improves our inner vision and is located in the middle of the forehead, just above the eyes. It is responsible for the logic and clarity of our ideas, it captures through our vision the best vibrations to balance our body and soul.

“Ajna”, which means perception or control center in Sanskrit, is the sixth chakra and it’s better known as the third eye. It is physically linked to the pituitary gland, eyes and nose, and is responsible for the control of all chakras.

Among the 7 main chakras, it is the one that sends all our commands to the body.

Its representation has only two petals because it is the symbol of duality and governs both sides of the brain. Balancing our masculine and feminine side. This chakra allows us to strengthen our intuition, which will give us greater security in our decisions and assessments on all matters of life. It helps us transfer our knowledge and intuition into effective leadership skills.

By associating with the frontal lobe, its energy directly influences our reasoning, the ability to absorb information and learning and, of course, intuition.

 It is through this chakra that we are represented in our spiritual body, it is an easy point to be balanced, as it is activated practically at all times through our vision so our eyes feed it continuously.

The effects of the Third Chakra Balance

When it is balanced, the third eye allows us to sharpen creativity, awaken our imagination and seek the best path to answer our challenges.

In this way, people with an aligned front chakra can easily lead a group or a team, because they have total confidence in their strategies and reasoning, which gives coherence and precision in their orientations.

Positive effects when aligned:

  • Great intuitive power;
  • Greater interior vision;
  • Security in decisions;
  • Natural leadership power;
  • Clarity of ideas;
  • Greater creativity;
  • Power of reasoning;
  • Easy learning;
  • Awakens the capacity for clairvoyance.

Negative effects when not aligned:

  • Addiction to legal or illegal drugs;
  • Lack of security;
  • Indecision;
  • Sinusitis;
  • Fanatical behaviour towards something or someone;
  • Emotional and mental fragility;
  • Life instability.

How to balance the Third Eye Chakra

Sitting in the sun at dawn or dusk helps to balance the energy of this point, as it is visual, images that bring us spiritual peace help in achieving its harmony.

Feed Your Brain

Foods rich in Omega 3 - such as nuts, oils and fish - are excellent for our sixth chakra. Foods rich in antioxidants, such as green tea and dark chocolate, are also recommended. Include in every meal. Our Be Better Chakra I See is a cleansing herbal blend with Peppermint, Nettle and Fennel. Soothing and cleansing, particularly in aid of digestive processes.

Massage the Forehead Center

Massaging the center of the forehead is a super-effective technique for working your sixth chakra. You can use your thumb or other fingers that you are comfortable with. Do the massage keeping your finger in place and moving it clockwise. In addition, it is extremely relaxing. Among its main benefits, is the improvement in concentration, the reduction of tension, the relief of headaches and the relaxation of the eyes. It is also well recommended for those who spend a lot of time in front of the computer screen.

The intonation of the OM Mantra.

Chant the OM chakra repeatedly. To do this, sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor or in the lotus position and keep your eyes closed. You can do it together with the indicated Mudra (next item).

Breathing Exercises

Do the Alternating Nostrils Exercise or Nadi Shodhana. I did a guide session of it in our first  Solaris Series 'A moment of calm'

moments of calm

1- Use a finger to cover the left nostril.

2- Inhale slowly through your right nostril, with the capped left nostril.

3- Switch your finger and close your right nostril now.

4- Exhale through your left nostril, with the capped right nostril.

5- Inhale now through your left nostril, keeping the right nostril capped.

6- Exhale through your right nostril, with the left nostril capped.

Keep repeating these cycles for as long as you like. Inhaling from the Left, Exhales from the Right. Breathing in from the Right, Exhale from the Left. This exercise is extremely calming and stimulates the two hemispheres of your brain, bringing you to the present and stimulating the perception of Your Third Eye Chakra.
